The Cities Institute undertakes research into urban society in its human, physical and economic dimensions. The culture of cities is at the heart of our work, which takes an integrated and inter-disciplinary approach to the concepts, policies and practices that help explain and influence the success of particular cities and urban quality of life. We interrogate socio-economic trends and the impacts of infrastructural developments and architectural interventions at domestic, neighbourhood, local and regional levels.
